Authors may reasonably utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools during manuscript preparation. However, AI shall not replace authors in research design, experimental operation, data acquisition, analytical judgment, and conclusion deduction. All AI-generated content must be manually verified, revised, and confirmed by authors before being incorporated into manuscripts. Authors bear full responsibility for the authenticity, scientific validity, originality, and traceability of all data contained in the paper.
Authors may adopt AI tools for the following non-core procedures: literature retrieval and sorting, linguistic polishing and grammatical proofreading, chart plotting and data visualization, auxiliary routine statistical analysis, draft derivation of uncertainty evaluation formulas (subject to manual verification), sorting of experimental workflows and technical route outlines, etc.
It is strictly prohibited to generate original measurement data, core metrological contents, false experimental information or fabricated references via AI; it is forbidden to evade academic misconduct detection, commit plagiarism, text rewriting and other irregular behaviors by means of AI; AI shall not be listed as a paper author; confidential metrological data, national measurement standard benchmark data or unpublished experimental data shall never be input into any AI tool.
All authors who have used AI tools must submit a Statement on the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence Tools upon submission, and specify the tool name, applicable procedures, positions of AI-generated contents and manual verification methods in the Acknowledgements or at the end of the manuscript. Failure to disclose as required or false disclosure will be regarded as incomplete materials, and the manuscript will be rejected.
The journal will conduct AI content detection and manual review on all submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts with excessively high proportion of AI-generated content, suspicious contents or non-compliance with metrological specifications will require supplementary explanations or revisions from authors. Submissions without reasonable explanations or effective revisions will be rejected. Authors who forge data, fabricate content or engage in other academic misconduct with the assistance of AI will face serious disciplinary penalties in accordance with relevant regulations, including but not limited to manuscript rejection, entry into the journal’s misconduct record list, submission ban for a specified period, and notification to the author’s affiliated institution.
