Development of Novel Calibration Device for Angular Acceleration Sensor

Abstract  A novel calibration device for angular acceleration sensor is designed. The calibration device is composed of outer stator, cup rotor and inner stator, the axis of two stator winding is orthogonal, and the AC in two winding stagger 90 electrical degrees each other, then a rotating magnetic field is generated, and result in the mutative angular acceleration produced on rotor. The theoretical formula of angular acceleration is deduced, the method of obtaining the parameters of the formula is given, and the characteristics of the calibration device are determined by the grating angular acceleration measurement system, the results show that the linear error of the calibration device is about 0.53%.
