Abstract DN1000 Three Gorges power station penstock model experiment was conducted in Kaifeng national large water flow facility to research on the measurement accuracy of 18-path ultrasonic flowmeter.The measurement errors are obtained, which verified the flowmeter had high measurement accuracy even in a complex flow field.The flow field in model penstock was inferred by analyzing the flow velocity distribution obtained from flowmeter.Measurement errors were not sensible to installation angle and average flow velocity.The reliability of the model experiment would be enhanced by using Computational fluid dynamic (CFD)-aided design.
