The Impact of Uniformity of Detector Responsivity on Measurement of Averaged LED Intensity |

Abstract When using photometer with nonuniform responsivity distribution to measure the averaged LED intensity of LED with nonuniform illuminance distribution, the measurement results will have significant errors. A special experiment system is designed to measure the responsivity distribution of three types of photodetectors, and the measurement results indicated that the responsivity uniformity of the photodetector with diffuser is worse and the corresponding measurement error can be 2.0% when it is used to measure a white LED's averaged intensity. The nonuniformity evaluation method and the expression of evaluation factor c are proposed. It is suggested that the photodetectors with diffuser should be avoid when calibrating the averaged LED intensity.
