Study on Volume Measurement Method for Spherical Tank Based on Three Dimension Laser Scanning Principle |

Abstract The method of sample and analysis for three dimension data cloud was discussed, and the main content included data sample principle, noise reduction, gross error identification, radius fitting and volume calculation. One preliminary experiment was done to test this method. The experimental result of one 1000m3 sphere tank showed that there was consistency between total station method and data cloud analysis method for the measurement on the level diameter of spherical tank with one difference 1mm, but for vertical diameter one big difference 16.1mm occurred between the data from two methods. The measurement uncertainty of laser scanning method used for tested the sphere tank volume calibration is 0.4% (k=2)。
