Abstract  Positioning accuracy is one of the most important technical indicators of CNC machine tools, the commonly used methods to calibrate it are based on laser interferometer and step gauge. The characteristics of these two methods were analyzed and compared with the measurement examples. Some ways to improve the accuracy of these two methods were also given.
