Abstract In order to optimize the data processing method of the gas chromatograph and improve its analysis accuracy, a two-step filtering method combining the median value filter with wavelet filter was studied for preprocessing the gas chromatography signal effectively. Two baseline correction methods were adopted to correct the baseline. Aiming at overlapping peaks, the intersection of vertical method and proportion method were proposed to improve the precision of separating peak greatly. MATLAB language was used in development of the off-line and on-line analysis software for implementing the above-mentioned processing methods. With the good user interface, the soft ware has achieved good application effect.
