A Robust Gaussian Filtering Method in Surface Measurement Based on Gross Error Estimation |

Abstract A new robust filtering method for surface measurement is presented, which combines closely gross error estimation with Gaussian filtering method. Firstly, the abnormal signal is judged, identified and corrected by kσ criterion, and the corresponding algorithm is described in detail. Then Gaussian filter is designed through moving average approximation method to establish the mean line of surface profile. Finally, surface roughness profile is separated based on the original profile and the obtained mean line. The method has simple algorithm which is easy to realize, it can effectively restrain surface abnormal signal, and achieves robust filtering.
