Abstract  Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) technology has serious pathologies in solving the problem of image reconstruction. In order to improve the accuracy of image reconstruction, an ECT image reconstruction algorithm based on improved coot optimization algorithm is proposed. Aiming at the problems of poor stability and easy to fall into local optimization caused by the random generation of initial population in the standard coot optimization algorithm (COA), the good point set method and sine and cosine optimization method are introduced, and the ART reconstruction algorithm is combined to improve the target function according to the characteristics of ECT imaging. Finally, simulation and static experiments are carried out, and compared with linear back projection (LBP) algorithm, Landweber algorithm and ART algorithm, the results show that this method can effectively improve the accuracy of image reconstruction.
