Abstract Laser Doppler velocimetry has been widely used in the field of flow measurement. Based on the experimental platform of vacuum airflow detection, a laser Doppler velocimeter was used to measure the gas-velocity of the vacuum chamber. In order to reduce the measurement error of the velocity measurement system, the source and evaluation of the measurement uncertainty of the vacuum chamber velocity were analyzed and explained. The relative standard uncertainty and the relative expansion uncertainty of the measurement of gas-velocity of the vacuum chamber are obtained. The results show that the uncertainty caused by LDV repetitive velocity measurement and air intake quantity estimation is relatively large, but the uncertainty caused by LDV system error and other factors are smaller. The results are of guiding significance to the measurement of flow velocity in the later stage of vacuum chamber.
