Abstract According to the national standard of GB18581—2001, a method for uncertainty evaluation of toluene by GC is developed. Since the mathematic model contains two nonlinear functions, the various variables among the procedures are analyzed and the uncertainty is calculated by relative standard uncertainty. By synthesizing the uncertainties of various component variables, the combined uncertainty is 0.020% and the expanded uncertainty is 0.040%. Comparing the method for uncertainty evaluation by getting sensitivity coefficient from derivation, this method is time-saved and efficient.
