Abstract A system is designed to measure the spark current in airplane igniter. The measuring system is based on Hall current transducer. Instruments such as shunt, transformer and Rogowski coil, are compared. The measuring system based on Hall transducer responds quickly and it is easy to operate. The system is also wide band and high definition. Testing principle of Hall current transducer is introduced, and experimental device is developed. The non-contact and automated measurement of high current is achieved. Electromagnetic interference and grounding problems are resolved especially. Exact data and waveforms of spark current are gained. The method of correlation analysis is introduced to analyze the repeatability of the measurement results.
