Abstract Based on the study of background and shielding method in gamma spectrometer, an anti-cosmic low-background γ-ray spectrometer system which the integrated background is up to 1.1×10-1s-1/100cm3Ge in the energy region between 100keV and 2500keV was built. Apply this device to measure the standard samples of 75mm×70mm soil substrate and 75mm×35mm biological ash substrate. The minimum detectable activity of137 cs in soil samples was 0.089Bq; the minimum detectable activity of137 Cs and134 Cs in biological gray samples were 0.068Bq and 0.098Bq.
