Abstract In view of the shortcomings of the existing methods for measuring the product of inertia of flying objects, a method for calculating the product of inertia based on the vertical rotating balance measurement technology is proposed. A rotary balance measurement turntable is constructed, the data acquisition and calculation processing method are introduced, error analysis is carried out. Combined with the actual engineering application, the standard workpiece is selected for multiple measurements, and the satisfactory results are obtained.
