Abstract Seen from the air-gap magnetic field distribution of the commutation process, vibration torque of brush DC motor exists. Aiming at the DC motor shaft vibration torque, specifically analyzed from the cause to the theoretical analysis and experimental measurements, a theoretical analytic method and an experimental measurement method are proposed. At the same time, based on the theoretical analysis and experimental measurements, a supression method of vibration torque is proposed. Through the experiment, it is found that the analytical results consistent with the experimental results. This proves the effectiveness of the method.
