A Subsection Correction Method for the Measurement Characteristic of Single Path Ultrasonic Water Meter

Abstract:As the fluid in pipe is in different Reynolds number, the average fluid velocity along the acoustic path measured by the ultrasonic water meter and the mean axial fluid velocity has significant nonlinear. Accorded to the different distribution state of measured fluid flow in the pipe, a new segmented correction method of flow measurement characteristics is proposed. By establishing a cutting point in critical area, the correction method of constant coefficient is adopted at the laminar, and that of linear equation fitting is used at the turbulence and transition flow respectively. Experiments show that this method is feasible.
