Abstract:With the kinetic energy theorem of the rigid body rotating round fixed axis, the relation between the moment of inertia of a single axis air bearing table rotating around fixed axis and time is established.On this basis, a new method for measuring the moment of inertia based on energy attenuation of a single axis air bearing table is described.Through detailed theoretical deduction, the experimental formula for measuring the moment of inertia of the objects is obtained.And the experimental results of measurement are verified.The results show that the relative error between the experimental results and the theoretical results is within ± 0.5%.
