Abstract:Based on the primary theory of optometry, accurate mathematic models for coaxial system of both single lens and combination of several lenses are established with matrix method. Then, comparison between accurate and simplified models is made by calculating the difference on dioptric power due to different position and distance between lenses. Finally, with the accurate mathematic models established, uncertainty for spherical power was evaluated and discussed. It showed that uncertainty from front and back surface radius is the biggest component, secondary is from refractive index and distance between lenses, and uncertainty from lens thickness is the least.
