Abstract:Angular rate is an important parameter for the state monitoring of rotating system or transmission. A portable instantaneous angular rate sensor is designed, which with a new structure and has no rotating parts. The working principle is a constant flux generated by the permanent magnetic steel, then the rotating part of the measured rotating device cuts the constant flux and forms an eddy current, the magnetic field generated by the eddy current interacts with the Hall element of the sensor, and then the Hall potential is generated, the amplitude of the Hall potential is proportional to the angular rate of the measured rotating device. According to the basic law of magnetic circuit, the output characteristics of sensor are deduced, and the output characteristics of sensor is carried out by actual measurement, the results show that the sensitivity of sensor is about 16.8mV·s/rad, the nonlinear error is about 1.24%.
