Abstract: Using CCD imaging and image processing for machine vision automatic alignment technology, considering the air refractive index of V prism refractometer measurement precision influence, and on the basis of principle of V prism refraction instrument original formula to mathematical modeling, an improved automatic V prism refractometer is proposed. Standard sample with known refractive index of glass block for assessing the improved instrument, test results and the calibration value of absolute error is less than ±3 X 10-6,and repeatability is less than 1 X 10-6.
