Abstract:Transducer’s electroacoustic efficiency is an important parameter for the prediction of therapeutic dose of highintensity focused ultrasound systems. Based on the planar scanning technique, the radiation force balance method and the self-reciprocity method, the output ultrasonic power of the spherical shell focused transducer was measured, and the transducers excitation electric power was also measured to obtain the transducers electroacoustic efficiency. Three methods are used to measure a spherical shell transducer operating at 1.1MHz. The related expandeduncertainty of the planar scanning technique is 14.21%, the related expanded uncertainty of the radiation force balance method is 5.82%, and the related expanded uncertainty of the self-reciprocity method is 15.30%. The deviation of the electroacoustic efficiency measured by the three methods is within 4%. Experiments show that the three methods have good consistency in measuring the electroacoustic efficiency of the spherical shell focusing transducer.
