Abstract:A density measurement apparatus based on the direct-driven vibrating tube method was developed. Under the condition that the vibrating tube was filled with vacuum and ethanol, the instrument constants were calibrated at temperatures from 260K to 360K and pressures from 0.1MPa to 20MPa. The performance of the device was validated by measuring the liquid densities of isopropanol and sec-butanol, and the experimental results were compared with literature data. The deviation of experimental data for isopropanol and sec-butanol from literature data were within ±0.2% and ±0.3%, respectively. It was verified that the accuracy of the device met the requirements of density measurement. The results could serve as the references for other researchers.
